About Alicia

Alicia Belcher Alicia Belcher is a proud Wolf Pack Alumni from the University of Nevada, Reno. During my undergraduate studies, I pursued Addiction Treatment Services and upon graduation immediately went into the chemical dependency field and collaborated with clients from diverse backgrounds in a variety of treatment settings – ranging from outpatient to inpatient hospitalization. During my addiction treatment career, I noticed that many of my clients dealt with mental illness through poly substance use and problem gambling. To better support the needs of my substance use clients, I furthered my professional education and training in the field of gambling disorders, and from there I continued my professional growth by obtaining my MSW to better serve the needs of clients.

Being a LMSW has allowed me to further my practical experience working both sides of prevention and treatment services for issues related to mood disorders, substance use, problem gambling, anger management, behavioral issues, suicidal ideation, crisis intervention and trauma.

Over these past several years, I have primarily collaborated with psychiatric inpatient clients, survivors and perpetrators of domestic and sexual violence, and military service members, as well as first responders.

I am a CSW-I at Serenity Counseling & Support Services, and I utilize a trauma-informed care approach when collaborating with clients – I find this to be most effective to lessen risk reduction and foster resiliency to enhance mental wellness.
