About Amber

Amber Ellis I enjoy working with clients from emerging adolescents to senior adults. I believe therapy is a journey best navigated in a space where the client’s experience is honored and validated. As a therapist, I understand that there are many facets to each person’s experience and reasons for seeking therapy. I provide a space for judgment-free self-expression and challenge clients to engage their strengths.

Together, we explore, identify, and manage areas of concern and distress, tailoring the therapeutic process to meet your unique needs. My approach to therapy is trauma-focused, with an emphasis on mental health as part of the whole person – mind, body, and spirit. I apply techniques from various modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, and others.

I received my BA in Psychology from Cal Poly Pomona, followed by a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. Prior to pursuing professional counseling as a CPC-Intern, I worked with adolescents and college students as an Independent Living and Educational Counselor. My journey also includes a career in recruitment and employee relations across various industries, which has provided me with a unique perspective on the challenges people face in different aspects of their lives.
