About Brittany

Brittany Burba My name is Britany Burba, and I am happy to be a part of Serenity Counseling & Support Services! I earned my master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Wheaton College in Illinois. Additionally, I pursued and received a certificate emphasizing trauma, which allowed me to gain the tools and knowledge needed to treat individuals going through and recovering from traumatic experiences.

Originally from California, I have had the privilege to meet and interact with many people of different backgrounds and experiences. During my time in California and Chicago, I worked with adolescents and adults struggling with various issues. I have had the opportunity to work in a hospital designed to assist adolescents and adults with OCD and trauma. Additionally, I also worked in a community mental health setting designated to help with a multitude of struggles, such as anxiety, depression, and trauma.

I believe everybody will experience troubling and life-altering events at some point, and it is essential to have support during those moments. It takes courage and strength to receive therapy, which should be recognized and celebrated. I approach therapy through a holistic lens in that I wish to listen to and view you as more than your struggles and assist you during difficult times. I want to create a comfortable space to foster growth and trust.

Some of the primary interventions/modalities I use are Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Person-Centered Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).

I look forward to working with you!
