About Gerimar

Gerimar Hicks Gerimar is a Clinical Social Work Intern, who’s working towards his independent clinical social work license. Gerimar obtained his bachelor’s degree in psychology in 2013 as well as obtained his Master of Social Work in 2019. He has over 20 years of experience in the mental health field. Gerimar uses a combination of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Narrative Therapy, and Psychodynamic Approach to meet his clients where they are at to help them change the trajectory of their lives.

He creates solution-focused goals to bring insight, healing, comfort with the stresses of life and traumatic experiences. Gerimar is open, fun, and super easy to talk to. He empowers each client to challenge the status-quo in their thinking and their actions.

Gerimar has worked with a wide range of clients, from the ages of 3 to geriatric-age. He has worked with individuals with major depression, bipolar, and anxiety, as well as with individuals who have experienced death, sexual assault, paranoia, and or severe emotional/behavioral disorders. Gerimar has great experience in using trauma informed practices while working with at risk youth and juveniles. Gerimar views everyone as an individual and meets them where they are to maximize comfortability in each session.

Benefits, Insurance & Self-Pay Accepted

Benefits and insurances are accepted for counseling including telehealth therapy. Cash-pay therapy is for in-office only.
